Custom Ice Cream Cart
This one started as a simple weekend project and turned into a good excuse to pull together a lot of things I’ve learned over the years.
The idea was to build a mobile cooler stand that could actually be used for drinks, ice cream, or whatever else you’d normally throw in a cooler while still keeping it clean and functional.
I wanted to take all the lessons (and mistakes) I’ve picked up from past builds and apply them here instead of figuring everything out the hard way again.
The first step of course was to take a trip to the big box store and grab some wood and a cooler.

Next, I gathered all the pieces and built out the frame.

After the frame was built, it was time to add the panels.

I made the opening just big enough for the cooler to sit in comfortably and of course a custom lid.

From the start, function was the priority. I added locking casters so it could roll around easily and stay put when needed, a drainage spout for easy cleanup, and door hinges to connect the top to the cooler so everything opened smoothly.

I also built in a bottom shelf for extra storage and added a bottle opener because it just made sense.
Once the structure was done, I finished it off with custom graphics on the front and side to give it a little personality.

Is it perfect? Definitely not.
But it works and that was the goal.
This ended up being a really fun weekend build and a good reminder that progress doesn’t come from getting everything right the first time. It comes from stacking lessons and trying again.
The coolest thing about this project is that it is easily customizeable for any event!
