Custom Dodger Hat Rack

One random night, my friend Lisa hit me up asking if I could build her a hat rack.

Right away, my mind started mapping it out.

I’d already made something similar before, so I knew it wasn’t going to be complicated.

I had leftover wood sitting around, just needed to grab some paint and get to work.

This one was a bit longer so it could hold up to 12 hats.

I started by drilling out the holes for each slot, then cut 15-degree angles so the hats would sit clean and naturally.

Once everything was cut, I sanded it down, laid down three coats of paint, and finished it with two coats of polyurethane.

While that was drying, I cut out the decals.

Last step, apply and bring it all together.

Simple.

Honestly, I knocked this out faster than expected, and it came out solid.

Lesson here: structure removes the friction between an idea and execution.

Onto the next one!

This wasn’t just something I went through.
It became the reason behind everything I’ve been building.
