9th Lap — The Journey Continues
This was easily one of the biggest projects I've ever taken on.
Not because it was unexpected... or every detail was thought through but because of how many different skills it demanded at once.
Years of trial and error quietly led here.
This build pulled from all of it.

The Intention
This marked our 9th year, and the goal was simple:
do something that left an impression.
Instead of keeping things small, the idea was to build something that told our story while showcasing the products we’ve created along the way.
Something that felt intentional, not temporary.

The Theme
Everything started with the theme.
This year was about paying respect to Nipsey Hussle, someone who heavily influenced how we grew up and how we think.
His Marathon concept blended naturally with our own journey, so the direction felt authentic from the start.
Once the theme was locked in, everything else finally had a foundation.

Apparel & Details
From there, it was time to design the apparel and all the small details surrounding it.
There were weeks of back-and-forth with the printer before the shirts were finally dropped off.
That moment alone felt like a win, one less thing to worry about.
Small victories mattered more than usual at this stage.

The Build
Two full sheets of 4×8, 3/4″ plywood were picked up from Home Depot and cut into four pieces just to fit in the car.
Getting the wood home was one thing.
Spending three hours in the sun drilling holes through every panel was another.
Half the time was spent waiting for batteries to charge, but it got done.

Bringing It Together
One panel was left black and layered with graphics.
The legs came together using a method that had worked in the past.
From there, 3/4″ dowels were cut, spray painted, and turned into custom shelves and hooks for the apparel. Piece by piece, everything started to take shape.

The Result
It was a mission, no doubt about it.
But seeing people stop, look, and connect with it made every part worth it.
In the end, it felt like a true representation of who we are, where we’ve been, and the work that continues behind the scenes.

If you made it this far, thank you & I hope you enjoyed a little glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes!
Onto the next lap.
