The Decision

So for the first time in ten years…

I stepped away.

And honestly…

that decision terrified me.

I was scared of disappointing people.

Scared of being judged.

Scared people would think I was throwing everything away after spending years building it.

What was supposed to be a short break...

slowly turned into months.

Then eventually…

a year.

At a certain point…

I realized I couldn’t keep living out of a suitcase anymore.

I needed something to hold onto.

Then out of nowhere…

an opportunity came up.

And right there…

everything clicked.

That was the anchor I needed.

Not just visits.

Not just temporary trips.

Something real.

Something permanent.

But making that decision wasn’t easy.

Because deep down…

I knew most people wouldn’t understand it.

From the outside,

it probably didn’t make sense.

But this wasn’t about logic.

This was about a promise.

So I stayed

A whole year.

No social media.
No distractions.
Just being present…

Study Sessions

Basketball Practice

Weekend sleepovers

Small moments...

that slowly became everything.

Late-night conversations that reminded me how much kids pay attention…

even when you think they don’t.

And somewhere in between all of this

I realized that I was healing too.
